The Turf Hotel began as a modest roadside inn on King George Boulevard and grew into a beloved community hub. For generations, locals and travelers have gathered here for live music nights, last-minute stays, and good-natured celebrations. Today, we blend that retro charm with refreshed spaces, friendly service, and an ever-lively calendar of entertainment.

From roadside stop to local icon
The Turf Hotel’s name originates from the land it was built on, which was formerly a horse racing track that operated throughout the 1950s and early 1960s.
What started as a simple place to rest has become a social fixture at the border of Surrey and New Westminster. The faces have changed, the music has evolved, and the skyline around us keeps rising — but the heart of Turf remains the same: welcoming, easygoing, and proudly local.
• Rooted in community: Decades of karaoke nights, live bands, and neighborhood gatherings.
• Refreshed for today: Updated rooms, an intimate lounge for special events, a high-energy Latin pub, and on-site eats and conveniences.
Milestones (A Short Timeline)
• 1960s–70s: Turf opens its doors; becomes a friendly stop for travelers and locals.
• 1980s–2000s: The lounge scene blossoms — karaoke, bands, and community events take root.
• 2010s: Ongoing refreshes of rooms and common areas; the entertainment calendar grows.
• Today: A lively blend of Mojito’s Pub, Turf Lounge, Kanin + Ulam, and the Beer & Wine Store — plus comfy rooms for a no-fuss stay.
